What is Link?
vis|ability, with Link, enables organizations to gain valuable and timely insight into the current state of operations by providing automated visualization of important information associated with incidents and events within the organization, targeted to those who need to know. How does it work?
The Link system is comprised of three elements:
- A Third-Party system that sends Link alarms, notifications, data, or other communication. Basically any system that can pass along a form of alerts. These can be SCADA applications, Network Devices, Email Threads, and others.
- A Link Plugin designed specifically for third-party systems. This plugin matches conditions and converts incoming communication into a Link Rules, using your typical “If This, Then That” architecture. These Link alerts contain all the information needed to inform vis|ability users of conditions that need attention. The End User can then map these Link alerts into Link actions using the Link Configurator application (see below). These actions can include loading layouts with content onto displays, loading specific Sources onto Displays or Spaces, and others. Basically, everything seen in the Source Management article and more.
- A Link Engine that performs actions to change the operating picture of a Space or control room all without any human intervention.
