vis|ability Capture Client
An Overview
What is Capture Client?
Capture Client is specialized software used to capture content from computers (screen capture) and allows remote users to view and control (with permission) that content. Capture Client is used in conjunction with Desktop Client to enable users to easily share anything on their desktop with display walls, spaces, and other users.
Think of it like a digital window to your desktop — when you open the window, other users can see what you’re working on. And with permission, they can even control your screen remotely.
This can be especially helpful for sharing visuals from Content PCs, SCADA Machines, Virtual Desktops, and any other devices running applications that are crucial to day-to-day operation.
But What About Security?!
Capture Client securely captures and transmits content directly from a user’s screen using OS-level access to applications. When a request is made on the vis|ability platform to view, share, or control a desktop, Capture Client captures, encodes, and streams the content to Multiplexer (usually installed on the System Manager server), which then delivers the content to the viewer(s). All communications are encrypted and secure.
What about Keyboard Mouse?
If the Source computer configuration allows it (this feature can be disabled on the Source computer through local configuration), Soft KVM is available. By clicking or tapping the Control button, any mouse movements and keyboard keystrokes in the Capture Client window will be sent to the Source computer.
Another Cool Feature
If an application or the operating system of the Source PC generates audio, Capture Client will transmit the audio along with the visual content. The volume of local audio playback can be adjusted or muted.
Note: Audio streams are in stereo only, and high-definition audio formats like Dolby 5.2 or DTS are not supported.
