Basic Display Node – Micro Form Factor Minimum Requirements

Technical Specifications for the Basic Display Node

Overview

MFF Display Node

The Basic Display Node – Micro Form Factor (MFF) provides a compact and efficient hardware platform for smaller vis|ability Display Areas that do not require direct baseband capture or advanced expansion capabilities.

Micro Form Factor Display Nodes are generally deployed as a single-output Display Node, providing a simple and cost-effective way to drive an individual display or Display Area.

The MFF configuration is designed primarily for IP and network-based content, including Capture Client sources, IP video streams, web dashboards, applications, graphics, and media.

Its compact footprint makes it particularly well suited for individual displays, ancillary displays, conference and meeting spaces, satellite locations, and other single-output visualization applications.

Minimum Hardware Specifications

Specification Minimum Requirement
Form Factor Micro / Mini PC
Operating System Windows 11 Pro x64
Processor Intel Core i7 12th Generation or later, or equivalent
Memory 16 GB DDR4 RAM
Storage 256 GB available capacity
Storage Type SSD recommended
Graphics Intel 700 Series integrated graphics or better
Display Output 1 × display output; 4K capable
Wired Network 1 × Gigabit Ethernet NIC
Wireless Network Wi-Fi commonly available; optional
Direct Capture Not Supported
Expansion / Capture Cards Not Supported

The underlying Basic/Entry Display Node specification supports Intel Core i7 12th Generation or later, 16 GB DDR4, integrated graphics, Gigabit Ethernet, and Windows 11 Pro x64.

Note: Micro Form Factor hardware may provide multiple physical graphics outputs. However, a typical vis|ability Micro Form Factor Display Node is intended for a single display output. Applications requiring multiple outputs should generally utilize a Small Form Factor or Advanced Display Node.

Supported Content

The Micro Form Factor Display Node is designed primarily for IP and network-accessible content.

Typical sources include:

    • Capture Client desktop and application sources
    • IP video streams
    • Web sources and dashboards
    • Application sources
    • Graphics
    • Media sources
    • Other supported network-based content

Because the MFF configuration does not include internal video capture hardware, these sources are delivered to the Display Node through the network or generated locally on the Display Node.

 Display Output

A typical Micro Form Factor Display Node is configured to provide one 4K-capable display output.

This makes the MFF particularly useful when a single physical display needs to become a managed vis|ability Display Area without requiring the processing power, physical footprint, or expansion capabilities of a larger Display Node.

 Network Connectivity

A Gigabit Ethernet connection is the standard network interface for the Micro Form Factor Basic Display Node.

Many commercially available Micro Form Factor systems also include integrated Wi-Fi, which may provide additional connectivity options where wireless networking is permitted.

Note: Wi-Fi capability is hardware-dependent and is not required for vis|ability operation. For production environments, wired Ethernet is recommended whenever available to provide consistent bandwidth, latency, and network reliability.

Actual network bandwidth requirements depend on the type, quantity, resolution, and frame rate of the content being delivered to the Display Node.
