Configuring and Troubleshooting LiveView

Overview

Live View enables operators to monitor content directly from the visability platform. This functionality relies on the correct configuration of Multiplexers (Mux Routers) and proper network communication between the Display Nodes, and the System Manager.

Because Live View involves multiple components communicating across the network, configuration accuracy and basic connectivity checks are essential. The following sections outline how to configure Multiplexers for Live View and provide guidance for diagnosing common issues.

Configuring and Installing Multiplexer Application

Multiplexers act as the routing component that allows visability to monitor and control Capture Client streams. These are configured within the VAC (visability Administration Console).

Step-by-Step Configuration

  1. Open VAC (visability Administration Console).

  2. Navigate to Multiplexers.

  3. Select Add / Add New.

  4. Enter the following information:

Name
A friendly identifier used to recognize the Multiplexer within the system.

Live View Address
The IP address or hostname assigned to the Multiplexer server. In most deployments, this will be the System Manager PC.

Port
Enter the port used by the Multiplexer’s Live View service. Refer to the Ports and Protocols documentation for the correct value.

  1. (Optional) Assign a Site name or description if the deployment spans multiple locations.

  2. Click Add Multiplexer / Save to complete the configuration.

Once saved, the Multiplexer becomes available for monitoring and control within the visability environment.
